Reviews from visitors:
Upon arrival there was not much of a greeting, the person handling the front desk seemed a bit stressed. The location is perfect and near lots of eateries and shops. Originally we booked a queen suite and overall we were content with the room. Later in the evening our TV shut off, we came to the front desk for support and got very little help and no solution or offer to move to another room. We had to watch Netflix on our phone through the first night. After going back up to the room frustrated I looked more into the booking site and the IvyBoutique site itself and realized we were missing all amenities it said was included. Later the next morning we spoke with Francis, the manager. He was SO helpful and accommodating, very soft spoken and understanding of our situation. Although the first attendant said they would leave note of our issues, he was very unaware and out of the loop as to what was going on with our room. He gave us free room service vouchers for both days staying, an upgrade to a King Suite and a discount on our room rates. Waking into the king suite we saw rose petals all over the bed, chocolate covered strawberries, and a bottle of champagne waiting for us! He made our last night at the Ivy absolutely wonderful and everything we wanted for our stay in Chicago. Thank you Francis!
I was torn between 4 and 5 stars. If we didn't get such a good deal, i probably would've gone with 4.
This hotel was probably state of the art the last time it was remodeled, but now its just a little worn and outdated. On the bright side, at a bit over $100, its a great deal for a soaking tub in a king suite. The furniture and finishes in the room were nice and it was very spacious.
You're probably not gonna get much of a view since it's a smaller place tucked in between large buildings, but we were on the 9th floor and were able to just see over the building next to us. The view was mostly of the water tank on the roof next door, but the huge windows made up for it.
The TVs are not smart, but do have premium cable. I wasn't able to find any music channels though, so they mostly stayed off.
The walls are thin. I could hear lots of different voices all night and the plumbing is loud.
The staff was nice enough, but we didn't have much interaction with them.
Great place to stay. The staff made the experience extra special for us. My daughter was having a procedure at Lurie Children's Hospital and we choose to stay in the city, as we live over an hour away from Chicago. The staff was extra accommodating and gave us flowers, and gift baskets to ensure our stay was relaxing and fun. It helped so much clam both of our nerves. I can't say enough nice things about this hotel.
This was one of the most beautiful hotels I haver stayed. It was very clean and everything I needed was there. The ambiance of the hotel is so amazing. Sent all my friends pictures of the rooms. So they should be booking soon.
Luxurious, glam hotel with beautiful features and details. We had a great time! Friendly hotel staff as well. Would recommend the romantic couples suite that comes with rose petals and a bottle of champagne! We will be back.
