We love The Drake. We come every year for a few days. Always book a lake view room. Last few times we have noticed the rooms are starting to look dated. Furniture are chipped etc. Also it would be so nice if they could clean the windows. It is such a gorgeous view. But windows are always dirty. Otherwise still my favorite hotel.
The location was fantastic. Right down the street from every major shopping need you could have. Food in the area is fantastic.
Some cons are the building itself. It’s old and the room legitimately look like they are falling apart.
Room wasn’t exactly the cleanest either.
We went here for tea to celebrate mother's day. Food was delicious, but they skimped on the pastries and sandwiches. Tea was amazing, along with the champagne. Atmosphere was to die for.
Great historic hotel. Rooms are a bit small but totally worth the experience. Great central downtown location as well. Close to all the downtown Chicago has to offer.
This hotel is in a great location and rooms were large, but it was very overpriced for what you get. The rooms are very old. Ours had cracks in the wall covered by wallpaper. The furniture was old and in need of repair. The worst part was that the room was excessively hot, even with the thermostat turned down to 60. I'm told that's because the building is old and it's difficult to adjust. We barely slept all night because it was so hot. For the cost I expected more.
