We had a MAGICAL experience at Grand Hotel Des Alpes! Everything was perfect! The room and the bed were very comfortable, we saw French Alps from our windows. The staff was very sweet and attentive, all our requests were fulfilled. I was also impressed by COVID-19 measures at the Grand Hotel Des Alpes. Everything was organized so well that we haven’t even seen anyone during our stay! We were alone at the SPA (because you need to book it in advance and it becomes private only for you), we had our breakfast and gastronomic dinner in the room (and it was a great experience! The food was great!)
In the SPA we were glad to enjoy the swimming pool with mountain view, jacuzzi bath, sauna and the steam room.
We advice Grand Hotel des Alpes to everyone, who appreciates wide range of luxury facilities and 5-star service!
I can’t recommend this hotel highly enough. The position in Chamonix is perfect and the lobby, rooms, terrace are all lovely. But by far the best thing is team of people who run/work at the hotel. Every member of staff cannot do enough to help you. A really lovely feel and a place I look forward to returning to.
Great location. Right in the centre of town. Walk out to all the stores and restaurants. Rooms is quite small but beds are very comfortable.
Not a 5 star hotel.
Majority of staff is terrible and rude with the exception of Fiona and one other girl at the front desk.
Showers leaked every time they were used causing flooding.
Staff never helped carry bags or skis. We came off the mountain with an injury and the driver didn’t help us put our skis in the ski room, he proceeded to park the car and walk away.
Breakfast staff were rude and loud.
Driver almost got into a car accident then proceeded to yell at the other driver for several minutes causing a dramatic, unprofessional situation.
Spa was packed every time we went to use it, twice we went back to our room because there was no room.
Not the best experience we have had in Chamonix.
Wonderful hotel in the centre of Chamonix. Beautiful rooms and an excellent spa. Staff were very friendly with Fiona in particular being incredibly helpful and friendly.
