Reviews from visitors:
Absolutely LOVED our stay at Casa La Cartujita! We originally booked for March 2020, but had to postpone to March 2021 due to the pandemic. Nathaly and the team were so kind, helpful, and accommodating from our very first emails, to our entire 7 day stay there. The hotel is in an incredible location within the Walled City - it’s within walking distance to amazing restaurants, bars, and cafes. We even walked to Getsemani a few times. We felt totally safe walking in the area around the hotel. Not sure if it’s always like this, but we had to ring the doorbell whenever we’d come back to the hotel. This wasn’t an issue for us, and it made us feel even more safe staying there.
We had a balcony room with an awesome view of the street below, and the room was super clean and refreshing. The balcony door/window did a great job of blocking out almost all the noise, but you can still (very faintly) hear the sounds of horses, street entertainers, and music - this was still not a bother to us (it's Cartagena!), and we always had a good night's sleep.
Early in our stay, I believe we were the only visitors at the hotel. Even when more guests arrived, the hotel premises was always clean and quiet. There’s a rooftop with a jacuzzi and great views. We also really loved the delicious Colombian breakfast served every day. It was some of the best food we had in Cartagena. Compliments to the chef!
This modern and stylish hotel is in a prime location, has clean and comfortable rooms, and offers 5-star service from their friendly staff. I highly recommend staying at Casa La Cartujita if you ever visit Cartagena, Colombia!!!
The staff at this hotel were friendly and professional. There was an issue with my room that was resolved in a satisfactory manner. The breakfast was very delicious and had adequate options. The area around the hotel is walkable with many places to shop, eat and experience the local culture. I will recommend this hotel to my family and friends and I will definitely stay at this property again on a future trip to Cartagena.
Beautiful hotel but what a shame about the staff. Whoever is in charge of hiring and training needs to be fired. You cannot ask for anything without getting a NO as a response before they listen to understand what you are asking for. A common attitude from those who are allergic to thriving in the hospitality field. If I had these people apply for a position in one of my companies .... They would be fired before they even started. What a shame !
Simply put, the team at Casa La Cartujita has our gratitude beyond measure!
We chose to stay here after extensive review of all our options in Cartagena. Our review is bittersweet, because we were very much looking forward to spending my birthday here and enjoying and exploring Cartagena to the fullest given the hotel's impeccable location and services.
Unfortunately due to the current unrest and unexpected airport closure in Bogota, our inbound journey was diverted mid-flight and returned back home to Toronto. Our itinerary was beyond saving, and we had to delay our trip indefinitely as a result.
We reached out to the management at Casa La Cartujita to explain the extenuating and difficult circumstances.
The hotel's response was first class all the way. They listened, they responded promptly several times, and they went above and beyond what one might expect, to ensure we were taken care of.
We are truly grateful to Casa La Cartujita, and very much look forward to returning and experiencing their world class hospitality first-hand!
So glad I got to stay at this very chic boutique hotel! The entire hotel was very clean and spotless. The rooms were a perfect size for 2 people and and amenities/toiletries were top notch. They had US outlets which was perfect and no need for converters! Breakfast is provided every morning and it was so healthy and fresh — you get to choose from a Colombian, American, or a healthy breakfast. There are only 7 rooms in this hotel so it’s very quiet and calm indoors. The hotel staff were very nice and very hospitable. Every evening, they brought up a snack to our room. There are two pools, one on the first floor and the other on the top. Both are accessible during the day and at nighttime. The hotel was located in a prime location within the Walled City and everything was walking distance, about 5-10 min to go to the top attractions. Overall, very happy with my stay here for 4 nights! Would highly recommend to all!
