Large and clean rooms with large and comfortable beds (rare sometimes). The rooftop is a lot of fun. Very central location but yet quiet. Great service and very attentive and responsive staff - thanks Andres!
My wife and I loved Sofia Hotel. During our stay the staff willingly attended to our every need. We felt like family during our stay, and the hotel was a real home away from home during our stay in Cartagena. We will stay here again when we return to Cartagena.
Nice hotel close to la Torre del Rejol but the best feature is the rooftop bar.
I had the fortune of staying at Sophia for about one week, and I know for a fact that if it had not been for staying here at Sophia, my trip to Cartagena would have been an entirely different experience. Here you feel more like family than a customer/guest, and the level of service from the staff is unparalleled; I had the fortune of working closely with Jorge, Maryuris, and Mauricio during my stay, and the amount of grace, professionalism combined with their in-depth knowledge of the area made my time here unforgettable. From recommending the best places to eat, booking the perfect tour to the nearby islands, or handling one-off special requests that require high emotional intelligence, they have it all in spades. I do not know the next time I will be in Cartagena, but it is a no brainer that I will only do so if I can "come back home" to Sophia. Two last points I wanted to mention was how great it was being able to keep in touch with the staff using WhatsApp; I always felt connected, and that gave me more confidence to explore and enjoy the beautiful city, and lastly, the cold draft BBC beer on the gorgeous rooftop made watching sunsets somehow even more enjoyable.
Amazing experience. The staff was super kind and helpful from start to finish - even walked us to a spot to exchange cash at a good rate. Rooftop is incredible, with views of the city and a slick bar whipping out fresh fruit cocktails. The pool is just what you need to cool off, and the staff will deliver drinks to your lounger to finish the job.
Breakfast is classic Colombian and delicious. We were in a rush one morning and they delivered it to our room - no problem.
The room itself is everything you need (you won’t be spending much time in there anyway). Spacious bathroom with a great shower.
Can’t beat the price point here, best hotel in Cartagena. Thank you for the wonderful stay!
