What a wonderful place to be. Went there for my 33rd birthday alone and had the time of my life. The hotel is clean, in a good location for walking and beach hopping. Literally near everything you need. Eliel is the best tour guide you can ask for...him and his brother Chris. Just tell them what kind of adventure you want and they'll hook you up!
Great price and parking is included so if you rent a car the Taxi rates won't kill you. Thomas the doorman/valet is a G. He will take care of everything for you and get you hooked up with places to eat. The hotel is like a 2 min walk a few different beaches and tons of restaurants and clubs. It was still a quiet place though and I never heard any outside noises. Front desk is super nice and helpful.
This place is horrible; staff has no idea what they are doing. Not clean.... not your usual Aloft; highly disappointed. I'm a huge Marriott/Starwood person (Lifetime Titanium status), and have never stayed at an Aloft as bad as this one.... Very sad and disappointed. We checked out and changed hotels. They really need to get their Sh%$ together here... be forewarned.
I am not sure if I should give this hotel 3 or 4 stars.
I rented it for the spontaneous trip for one week, it was not a vacation I was waiting for the whole year.
I payed 55 bucks per day, it was really cheap, but the room was outdated and not perfectly clean.
I had absolutely no room cleaning the whole week, they didn't even changed towels without a request.
On the other hand the lobby was nice, it was secure (I didn't shut my door and the guys from the security came to check it), the hotel has a free bar, the rooftop view was very nice.
If your trip to Cancun is a big deal for you and you was waiting for the vacation the whole year I definitely suggest to spend a bit more $ on a better hotel. If you just go for a couple of days to hang out with the friends you can get this option if it's on promotion.
It was pretty good back in 2016 but has since gone down. A little paint and fixing the large chips could go a long way. There was also a terrible smell throughout the hotel. The service was just ok this time. Very disappointed
