The location could definitely be better, but the view and comfort of the rooms could not be. Very friendly staff, very cheap place, would recommend to anyone. Is outside of the hotel zone, but if that's where you're looking for this has got to be the best place. Stunning view, comfortable accommodations, fantastic visit.

Loved the vibe of this place but it is kind of far from resturaunts and shopping. We found some local spots and if you love fish you will have no problem with the restaurants near by. Overall a very lovely experience.
We were in Cancun in February on our quest to visit 15 of the 35 UNESCO World Heritage Sites that Mexico has. La Casa del Sol is a perfect place to stay being just a short day trip away from the many sites located on the Yucatan peninsula.
For us La Casa del Sol was perfectly located outside of the expensive hotel zone and instead in the oldest part of the city called Puerto Juarez. This is also where the ferry goes from to Isla Mujeres which we also planned to visit. On top of that it has a seafront location where you hear the soothing waves, and a lovely pool!
Our room on the ground floor here was awesome! Big comfy bed, a lot of storage space,nice bathroom and a fridge that we found very, very useful. Outside of our huge glass front window/door we had a lovely hammock hanging, all felt very nice and cozy.
Our hosts were very welcoming and extremely helpful with restaurant and beach recommendations. We had all we needed just around the corner, even a bus and colectivo station which was very useful. Soon there will also be a Yoga Retreat here, an absolutely perfect location overlooking the Carribean Sea.
La Casa del Sol comes highly recommended as a great location for those who want to experience real Cancun, soon do yoga, and visit Isla Mujeres.
