The Royal is at the quiet of end of town but within walking distance of Queen St Mall and all the sights. Our lovely room had views over the Botanical Gardens and the river. Dinner at the Walnut Restaurant was delicious and the bar was a lovely area for a drink and rest. The pool was very inviting on a hot day.
All the staff were very efficient and helpful. We recommend staying here.
Comfortable and modern rooms, kind of affordable too. Located across the road from the park and in the middle of town so everything is within walking distance. The restaurant serves a great breakfast too and if you pre book you save a fair bit of money and time. A great place I'd be happy to stay here again in future.
A delightfully elegant old charmer. Nice sized rooms with extremely comfortable bedding. Delicious buffet breakfast. Very well priced. So handy to the riverside restaurants. Do yourself a favour and stay.
I decided to review this after I filled out the feedback form and nothing was addressed.
This hotel is extremely noisy. If you are after a good nights sleep I would highly recommend finding another hotel. The buffet breakfast included with some of the rates is not worth having. Due to cover restrictions the staff have to walk with you through the buffet picking out for you what you want which is a strange experience and makes for a cold hot breakfast.
The hotel staff at reception are not the friendliest. Usually when checking out the usual chit chat of how was everything is asked. This was not the case. Checking in was even more baffling. I had a modern room but obvious stains on furniture was off putting. Three pillows instead of four on the bed and the other in the cupboard which makes me think the pillow case wasn't changed??
The espresso machine they use as a feature point is the cheap woolies one and the pods the same.
All in all it was a very cheap rate to stay but if I was to go back in time I would book elsewhere for more. Was an unpleasant experience.
Excellent customer support. Great price. Conveniently close to the city on foot. Always love my stay here.
