This accommodation would have become 5 stars if the waiting staff in the bar didn't take 30 minutes to take our order between drinks. The food was outstanding and the waitress was very attentive while we were ordering our meal. After dinner we went for a stroll and returned about an hour later. We were greeted by the same waitress who said she would attend to us in a little she had no idea we were the same couple she had served about an hour earlier. We waiting at least 10 minutes to be invited in by someone else. By this time it was very quiet and well staffed. The waitress passed us again about 5 minutes after we were seated without taking an order. We sat for a further 20 minutes before one of the staff noticed we were just about to leave. We finished our drinks and waited to order another. It was so long between drink and when we were asked for our order it sat on the bar ready to be delivered for at least 10 minutes. We had to ask for our drinks again. We hurriedly finished our drinks and left. The hotel was spotless. all staff other than the top restaurant were perfect in every way. We would visit again but not to the restaurant.
Unfortunately the service levels did not match the price point. We stayed 2 nights and our room was not cleaned despite turning on the “make up my room” light and phoning to request the room be cleaned at least twice. We eventually gave up as we had to get ready for a wedding. The Concierge tried to deliver the wrong bags to our room. The hotel provides a “pillow menu” but when we requested a pillow from that menu, nothing was ever delivered. We called to speak to someone about the issues we had in order to give the hotel a chance to rectify the situation and we were told the supervisor was “busy” and would call back. We never received a call back. The pool area has a great view but very limited seating and the pool staff rope off access to certain seating for no apparent reason. It would be great if pool staff approached guests to take orders for food and drink rather than standing around chatting and waiting for guests to approach them. With some simple improvements to communications and staff training, these issues could be rectified to bring the service up to a standard commensurate with the price point.
Loved this hotel. As soon as we arrived the staff at the reception were so friendly and nice with us. We were there to celebrate our babymoon and we couldn’t pick a better hotel. Our room was so beautiful and modern, clean, great views and the best, the swimming pool. It was amazing. The best place to relax and enjoy. I can’t wait to go back.

Food at the Signature was amazing. The fish special was best I've ever had.
I've got a birthday cupcake within half an hour after we checked in even though I've only made a casual remark to the lady that checked us in.
Breakfast was amazing at the terrace with a very attentive waiter.
The bad:
Tried to charge us valet until I got them to double check our package.
Waited for 15 minutes at the Signature to get seated.
And the just over an hour for entree to be served.
Over charged us by $300 at check out because yet again didn't know what our package include.
I've emailed the hotel to let them know about all the above about 10 days ago and I was told someone will get back to me...10 days later...I'm writing this review...
What an absolute delight to stay at the Emporium Hotel South Bank, the team responsible for the training of all staff need to be commended. This is a 5 star property with 5 star service.
Attention to detail, nothing is too much trouble and staff genuinely go out of their way to ensure that you feel you are being looked after in a special and unique way.
From our arrival on check in, valet parking, concierge, room service and breakfast in the stunning Terrace Restaurant all 110% professional and uniquely personable 5 star treatment.
Emporium have got it right, they understand why they are in the 5 star hotel business and I doubt there is any other hotel (5 star or otherwise) currently in Australia that can even come close to the Emporium South Bank.
