Ok, so probably a 4.5 stars but better than 4 so five it is!
1. Location: smack bang in the middle of heaps of activity, walking distance to the river and city botanic gardens. Heaps of restaurants and cafes, shops, parking, gyms all in very easy walking distance. City bike hire just down the road
2. Room: massive! Huge room, large bathroom, very high ceilings. The bed was comfy, the kitchenette well appointed. The minibar was very well stocked and actually reasonable prices for a minibar. The bathroom looked like it had been newly renovated and was excellent. Some of the appliances are dated but I guess if they work so what? The bedroom and furniture also is quite dated but in good condition and clean.
3. The service: staff bent over backwards to make sure we had a safe and reasonably priced spot to park our rather large car. Could not fault it.
Stayed for a 4 day break, room was nicely appointed, and spacious. Not quite touching the luxury feel in my opinion. Nice, very nice, but not that nice. Room was deadly quiet, which has been achieved by double glazing the original window...so if you like fresh air....you can't open the windows. The rooms weren't getting serviced because of Covid...although we find that puzzling, the resort we are staying at now has daily room service and way more people, so figure that out. No car parking on site for bigger vehicles, but Myers across the road is literally across the road and staff will give you vouchers to get your car out of jail ($20) and will add that to your account. Rubbish bin in apartment was too small for the amount of occupants it could hold, and because the room wasn't serviced we ran out of bin bags and toilets rolls pretty quick. Don't get me wrong, the staff said if we need anything just ask. But in my opinion, if your paying top whack, we really shouldn't have to. All in all a good place to stay, in a great central location. Staff are very attentive and know their jobs and cannot fault them at all. They give the place the feeling of luxury and opulence but other aspects of the place just can't quite catch up.
amazing building with perfect apartments. the building has so much history and is the most beautiful place to stay in for Brisbane. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here and will come back again
Such a beautiful hotel, and the rooms are so spacious. Much prefer it to the modern little cramped boxes. And everything is just out the door - the city, Myer centre and South Bank all so close.
Staff are courteous and nothing was a trouble for them to help us. Location superb. Definitely staying again. Highly recommend
