We have stayed at the North Station location 3 times now and each time has been great. Check in is seamless - you check yourself in on a kiosk, which then assigns you a room and allows you to make your own keys. There’s always staff around if you need help with the process. Elevators to the rooms can only be accessed via room card which I like. Keeps everything secure.
The rooms are on the smaller side but cozy and comfortable, and really modern. Very clean! The bed is quite possibly the most comfortable hotel bed I’ve ever slept in, in 30 years of travel. Seriously, come here for the bed alone. I also love that everything is controlled by the iPad, so I don’t have to get out of bed when I inevitably forget to shut the lights out.
Room is beautiful and staff is friendly when walking in but besides that there is ZERO customer service. Called to get water bottles (there was no water at all in the room besides tap) they said they couldn’t bring us any but of course we could go buy some downstairs! Called to get robes for after the shower (especially because they provide 2 towels) apparently they have no robes.. what hotel doesn’t have robes? Called to ask for wine glasses, shocker! They wouldn’t bring us any. The women on the phone said “there’s only two of us working we have no man power for that” then we called for room service food and apparently they do not do that. So if you aren’t looking for the luxury hotels usually give you and hospitality. This isn’t the place. Just a room to stay.
It was horrible. I forgot my ID and told the “manager” at the front desk who was checking us in. She told me to call my mother so i did and got a photo one of it. Before that I showed her my school ID I had to verify it was me. She still did not accept the photo ID. Told us they didnt accept them and when asked why they don’t she kept shoving the rules that were posted on a frame in front of my face. I asked to explain it to me and then she said they just don’t. When told we drove almost 1 1/2 there she told us to drive safe and goodbye. Left in tears and she was not understanding at all and did not want to be understanding or at least nice gave a lot of unnecessary attitude.
I had a very nice stay on this hotel, this was my first experience on a Citizen M but definitely not the last one. I’ve never stay in such a high tech place, I hope other hotels can copy something from them, I really love the technology they had during the whole building/rooms. I had only one issue at the bar, for that reason I didn’t give them 5 stars but for the rest very nice hotel, highly recommended.
Very up to date modern rooms that give a great window view of downtown Boston. The cafe food and morning breakfast was great but a little pricey. All around though it was quite the experience!
