Reviews from visitors:
This place just seems..like a bit of a disappointment, when it should be so much better.
Let’s start with the rooms - ours was likely one of the cheaper ones but it was nice, very small bedroom but huge beautiful bathroom, both with lots of light and windows over a beautiful Bordeaux street.
The location is pretty perfect, right in the middle of everything and walking distance to pretty much anywhere, and there’s even parking right outside which is free on a Sunday (as everywhere is). It’s a very pretty hotel, inside and out.
What it professes to be however is a Spa and Golf hotel, and of these it is neither. There were clearly some CV-19 related issues for the spa but it was opened and they booked us in and we paid the extra. Down there, there is a steam room (shut), tiny sauna (open) and a nice jacuzzi area (also tiny), 2 man max. This...was also shut, yet they never told us when booking. The lady looked surprised that I wouldn’t be ok with a Spa booking that was...just one tiny sauna, and nothing else. They refunded us but it would barely be a spa if everything was working, let alone if it isn’t.
We felt one of the men on reception was pretty hard work - the one that booked us that spa with no mention of the above (we’d have made other plans, clearly). He wouldn’t let us check out much later than normal despite there being almost no one in the hotel (appreciate he’s not obliged to) and just wasn’t really professional enough - even down to ‘pre-authorising’ our card then charging us the full amount again when we got there. Eventually the authorisation was refunded after a day but why do we have to pay twice even for a day before it’s returned?
Overall a shame, beautiful hotel that could be much better.
They gave us a dark, grey room, with a view for a wall. No natural light, any view, any color, very different from what they show on the websites. We tried to change and staff was unhelpful.
We also booked thinking about going to the spa. The staff didnt allow us to make reservations in advance and once we got there (friday morning) all weekend was already booked.
Breakfast (not included) was mediocre with bad quality products.
We were looking for a nice hotel for the weekend and we felt stolen. A very frustrating experience.
My travel plans fell through and I was not able to make my trip to Bordeaux. I had prepaid for my reservation which was a promotional rate. When I called to cancel my reservation, I was told that it could not be refunded because of the promotional rate. When I asked if they could issue a credit with their hotel for the value of the promotional rate to be applied to a future booking, they refused. I feel like I was held up at gun point and robbed. I’ve honestly never encountered anything like this from a hospitality business. I would not recommend staying at this hotel since it fails at a pretty basic element of customer service and essentially guarantees that a customer would be so turned off by their policies that they will never consider booking with them in the future. Bizarre.
Nice room, great location, but you cannot eat there during day time as restaurant doesn't work.
A beautiful, well located, boutique hotel at the centre of Bordeaux. The staff were very attentive, the rooms were tastefully decorated and well appointed but the one I had was a little small. I didn't use the spa facilities but I expect they are also of a similarly high standard
