Lovely, small boutique hotel. Staff is very helpful .

Cosy in a typical Bordelais house and nice service !
In my opinion, this is not a "boutique" hotel...it is a very basic B&B.
Our "Junior Suite was a shabby family room, with two single sofa beds made up and covered in blankets in the "suite area. The bathroom needs a total overhaul, tired and dated, no shower, just a hand held option in the bath, worn out towels and robes. Noisy fridge randomly placed on the bedroom floor.
Getting here is a nightmare with the extensive tram works, most roads are closed or diversions are in place; the B&B should advise guests in advance as sat nav won't get you there!. There is practically no parking on the narrow one way street, I booked parking thinking it was on the premises, however we were told to park at the gate and the car had to be moved to a local car park...before 9am.
Entry was via a door to The Consulate of Monaco. The B&B should advise guests of this as I spent 10 minutes looking for the sign for La Maison De Bordeaux...absolutely not visible from the car? We were given a punch pad code to enter, ...so anyone who knows the code can enter the building, which is unattended from 9pm to 8am. We arrived after 9pm, we collected our keys and staggered up three flights of rickety stairs, worn carpets, loose stair rods? Plastered on the stairway and walls to guide us (?)were A4 pages with my name and room number. GDPR anyone?
Breakfast? Don't bother. Meagre, toaster didn't work, no coffee, you have to wait to be served.
I forgot a bag on departure, in the reception area, called as soon as I realised en route to our next destination. I was told no bag was found on the premises? I called again the following morning..insistent I had left my bag...I was told it had indeed been located? So I arranged to collect it a few days later. Such incompetent drama ensued. Multiple e-mails. I arrived as arranged to collect my bag...entering via The Consulate of Monaco door ...as the code worked and no one answered the bell...the receptionist asked me who I was and what bag!!!!
This is a very small B&B, I had checked out with this woman several days before and had spoken to her regularly during our stay? Eventually my bag was located in "Lost Property"...an unlocked store/kitchen off Reception. I left and discovered an issue with my belongings...returning again via the Consulate of Monaco ( it is actually located in the B&B!).
I will bet my missing GUCCI belt that the codes are never changed to the B&B, making this a security nightmare for guests. All in all a very disappointing experience.
