We have stayed in 16 - 20.02.2020 in Mercure Bologna. That was great! We made the centre to Bologna for visiting to Venice and Firenze by train from Bologna. So, we could reach to train station from hotel very easily even late time at night because, the hotel is across the train station. Their breakfast is served from 6.30 am to 10 am from Monday to Friday and from 7.00 am to 10.30 am during week-ends and bank holidays. So, you can use the early train service in the morning. Also, they have always having smiling face and kind person who are all collegues from housekeeping,breakfast room, recepsion desk. Their hotel was always clean. By the way, you can walk to city centre from hotel too. It took 10 minutes by walking. It was worth everything ! Grazie !!
We are not one to ever write reviews, and please note that we are absolutely not picky or snobs, however we had such a disappointing stay. The room had what looked like smoke stains on the walls, with yellow and peeling wallpaper and was generally very unpleasant. The room was SO hot! We tried turning off the thermostat but it was sweltering at night, we had to open the window all night (in winter!). We were due to check out at 12pm the next day, however had the cleaning staff knocking on our door three times every half hour between 10-12 asking when we can leave so they can clean the room. Upon check in we were greeted and told where our room was and that was about it, despite it being our first trip to Bologna. Upon check out we weren’t even told ‘goodbye’ or asked how our stay was. The staff at the front desk continued to have a private conversation in front of us whilst we were being served. We were told where to place our bags for luggage hold, which we were not offered any help for (despite us being the only clientele at reception) we had to lug our super heavy bags up stairs (where we realised we then needed to run back for the staff to electronically open the door). All in all quite a poor experience unfortunately.
The location is good. The stuff is very pleasant and professional. My bed was comfortable and I had enough pillows
Staff is kind and it's on a great location, but the bulding is in a really bad condition.
Rooms are really old, walls are dirty (in my room one wall has smoke marks) and the bathroom is terrible to shower.
I booked because I really like Accor, but in Bologna that was not a clever choice.
Good helpful staff. Nice refurbished look and very close to historical centre but also airport and train station. The price is comparable to similar hotels so you won't get any extra value. I only stayed for a short period for business so for that will do.
