Good hotel. Modern, big rooms, great staff
I booked the last room available in the Hotel Cavour. It was a very nice room, but there was a terrible odor of sewage coming from the bathroom. I entered the room at 12 midnight. Because the odor was so overpowering, I went and slept on the daybed in my friends room in the same hotel. The next morning , I returned to the room and called the front desk. Someone came up to confirm that the odor was overpowering. They said they would notify the manager, who eventually came to the hotel 3 hours later. He gave me a 20% discount which I thought was extremely little considering. The situation was treated with very poor customer service. I will not return. My friend’s room was very nice and did not have the stench of raw sewage.
It's a centrally located hotel with short walking distances to the train and bus stations, the main attractions, and also the Quadrilatero where you can find lots of restaurants and bars. My room was spacious and quiet, and there were lots of choices for breakfast.
My room was on the top floor (3), but the lift only goes up to level 2 so you have to drag your luggage up and down the last flight of stairs.
