Reception staff very robotic. They didn't appear to have personal skills.
Double rooms differ a lot in size but are still the same price. Breakfast was nice they staff were good. The coffee left a lot to be desired for Italian standards. We booked the Country House on Booking.com however this is still closed. Don't book if looking for a small hotel.
This is a really stylish hotel!
Country and beauty together , good location not far away from the city centre, all green outdoor, great for those who would like to organise an event planning, trade show, conference or congress.
The breakfast was delicious and the staff were always welcoming!!

Unfortunately, in Italy hotels are often worth one star less than their official ratings compared to other European countries. Thus 4-stars hotels are often barely worth 3-stars, and so on.
This is clearly not the case with the Hotel Savoia Regency in Bologna. Everything there is top-notch and well-managed. The staff is flexible and efficient. The rooms are lovely and well-maintained. Despite being in suburbs, the gardens and the pool gives you the feeling of being in the middle of nature.
For the breakfast, due to the pandemic going on, hotels have typically struggled to organize things in a safe way. Well, the Hotel Savoia Regency has the best pandemic-proof breakfast organisation I have seen in the dozen hotels I have been in during this summer. There is a queue only for things that need interactions with a waiter, while the more mundane things like coffee machine or orange juice remain freely available in self-service.
The restaurant of the hotel is also fantastic, a great opportunity to delve into top Italian cooking.
Really enjoyed our stay here for four nights in July/August 2020. The setting in it's own grounds is beautiful and the hotel very clean and well maintained. We had a front facing room with balcony which was great.
Staff were mostly friendly and helpful. The pool is good although very busy. Food for breakfast was pleasant and the dining area very nice. Overall inexpensive and we would definitely stay again.
