This place is very unique and tranquil! The cost is highly valuable and I would recommend! It’s quite cheap and the interior is beautifully Chinese themed. Also, it’s situated on the famous Yaowarat market, which you cannot miss when you’re in Chinatown.
I spent some time looking for the most exciting, romantic, stylish and authentic china town experience - many asks - and Shanghai Mansion ticks all the boxes. Right from the location and ambience of the outdoor surroundings at the entry to the Mansion, its stylish jazz bar, the entire interior and to the room..
The pictures you can find online pale to the real life experience, and our experience with the Reception Manager Ben was as warm and welcoming as it was professional.
My gf and I loved every minute of our weekend in Chinatown, and have already booked a room for another stay at the Mansion for the New Year in just a few weeks.
Bar at the lobby has nice soft jazz from Thursdays to Sundays. Food and appetizers are nice as well the selection of wines and drinks. Staff service is good.

Shanghai Mansion is such a breath of fresh air in a hotel world of cookie cutter poshtels and reused, tired aesthetics. Everywhere throughout the hotel has such a warm, sophisticated, personal touch but never felt cheesy or over the top.
My wife and I stayed in a superior room for the night as a part of a China Town staycation. The location was perfect and we loved being able to step outside and be right in the heart of everything, but never hear a peep of noise inside. The rooms were wonderful and had everything we needed, the oversized coconut shampoo & conditioner were a nice touch as well. The only complaint we had was that the air conditioner was loud and made noises all throughout the night waking us several times. However, I did tell the staff at checkout the next day and they seemed sincerely apologetic and would look into it.
All in all, a great place that we definitely enjoyed and hope to be able to come back to soon!
