Beware that if you are looking for a good night's sleep this isn't the place. I paid extra for a balcony and corner room but was not informed that it was right next to a club that went full tilt with dance music until 2 a.m. the hotel is great and if you are going to Austin to party it up all night this would be a great choice. But perhaps they could put a warning on their page for those looking for a more quiet evening...especially out of towners who are not familiar with Austin. Hopefully others like me will see this and make a different choice.
I will echo what others said about the comfort and the great employees. The price for parking was a little extreme.
The hotel is perfection. Not too big, not too small. Modern and clean. The rooms are clean, beds and sheets soft and very comfortable. Hotel is very centrally located to everything. The hotel staff are very polite and welcoming.
Negative:
1) My room was noisy. I could hear the music from neighboring business all night until they closed down at 2am, for that reason I could not sleep. I am a deep sleeper and easily fall asleep regardless of how much noise there’s around me, but not in the room I stayed in. If you decide reserve at this hotel have them guarantee you a quiet room.
2) No hot water in shower in the room I stayed in. My parents room did have hot water so I don’t know what happened there.
3) No free parking due to the hotels location right on 6th street. Valet at the hotel is $48 dollars a night.
Wow! I had an amazing stay. The hotel staff was wonderful. Very friendly, personable, and went out of their way. The property itself is very nice. I loved the decor and they did have a chance to enjoy the pool deck. Look forward to coming back!
We were so lucky to obtain a room on Monday February 15, 2021 the first day of the weather/power event. We could not have been more happy. The staff went out of their way to keep us safe, warm and fed. I cannot say enough for how grateful we were to stay at The Canopy during this crisis. I highly recommend The Canopy!
Where do I start? My experience at the Canopy Austin in downtown Austin was more than five stars! The staff exceeded my expectations and I was pleasantly surprised with all of the little things that made the stay extra special. One of my favorite parts about our room was the super cozy Canopy-branded robes. I also thoroughly enjoyed their variety of teas.
One thing I missed out on was the opportunity to take the bikes out for a ride! Hopefully, I'll get the chance next time! Special shout out to Jill at the front desk, and Sydney and Michael over at Verbena. What a FABULOUS group of people!
