**UPDATE 2 star to 1 star** Its been 9 days since I checked out and they still are holding my incidental authorization. Very frustrating and will never stay with this hotel again. They don't respect my money, I will not give them an opportunity to have it.
Front desk staff that checked me in was completely silence during the process. The lady checking in the guest next to me in was very talkative filling in the guest with all the specifics about the hotel. I had a bad feeling about this place from there. They put us in a room that was so far from the elevator. The bathroom was poorly cleaned on top of the room being poorly cleaned. I found broken glass on the floor by the sitting area. If this broken glass wasn't discovered during the cleaning process, I am lead to believe that this room was poorly cleaned. The restaurant on site was pretty good. Either way, huge disappointment over all. I feel this hotel has seen better days and its just NOT WORTH THE MONEY! At all. I find I would have had a better experience at a lower star hotel. I know for sure there are better hotels out there for the money spent.
Exceptionally clean hotel rooms with amazing service. We visited Austin a couple of times before finally moving here & this was our hotel of choice. Every-time they offered great room service with cleanliness, social distancing and in house restaurant. Perfectly located in the Arboretum with food and shopping joints at a walking distance.
The most frustrating hotel stays of my life! When I checked in they said pool and fitness area were unavailable and that they don’t do daily room cleaning... see other reviewers for the dirtiness... should have smelled a rat then. Took 30 minutes to check in because one Karen had a million questions, then in long lines for elevator, another Karen first kicked my dog and then tried to steal my elevator spot. After all that, tried to order room service and guy told me to call restaurant in hotel and order to go. Tried that but number for restaurant goes to hotel front desk and they initially put me on hold for 7 minutes at 10:15PM. Trying to get something to eat before restaurant closes so hung up and called number again twice, finally to reach another person at hotel front desk that said I couldn’t order to go from restaurant. Running down there now to order in person... maybe, hungry and frustrated... what new twists and obstacles await!!! After 12 hours of driving, definitely don’t go here—will feel like 100000 hours of driving a lifetime of hell.
The hotel itself was beautiful. Check-in was great. Ample parking. But the room...
The room is about a decade late for being updated. The bed was so hard and uncomfortable I didn't get much sleep. The bathroom was dirty, found a lot of hair that wasn't mine in there. I'm a male with brown hair and there was a lot of long hair, and red hair. While hair doesn't gross me out, seeing it made me as what else wasn't clean there. Rust spots all over the tub.
The room was marketed online as one "with a view". That view that I assumed would be the arboretum...was the lobby. Disappointed there as well.
While the hotel is gorgeous, I unfortunately won't stay here again.
This is our second room with dirty sheets tonight and the hotel desk is very cavalier about the fact that they have given us two rooms which have not been clean. The desk seems to be minimally interested in fixing this in a timely manner because there is only one person available in housekeeping. Poor preparation for a hotel that is aware it is Spring Break and they are sold out. I will not be returning to this hotel.
If you are ok with dirty sheets and stained towels, the rest of the hotel is decent from what we have seen. The front desk is friendly.
UPDATE: After a third visit to the front desk for clean sheets sometime after 12:30 am, the lovely lady on a leg scooter came up to help us change the sheets to clean ones. The next morning, the manager did what he could to rectify the damaged relationship with us as customers. The efforts were appreciated and welcomed. However, we still have no plans to return.
