During my stay at austin proper was one to remember. The entire building and staff are absolutely perfect!!! I'd like to shout out one if there team members who was so accommodating. Thank you so much Louie for all of the things you do to keep the ship sailing smoothly! I can't wait to go back!!!
Best staff ever. Stayed in this lovely hotel throughout the snowstorm of 2021. Out flights were canceled. The managers and staff did everything to make our stay lovely it this terribly difficult time. With all the Austin restaurants closed, the staff prepared and delivered meals to our room. Classy, dedicated amazing staff, hotel and management team.
We stayed at Austin Proper for our wedding night and have no regrets! The staff were very kind and even upgraded our room for us; a very nice touch! The rooms are stunning and the food at Peacock the next morning was SO good. The only downside is that the shower did overflow into the bathroom and rest of the hotel room very easily. Otherwise it was a fantastic stay and we can't wait to go back!
All form, no function. This hotel is beautifully designed, but we found the beds to be very uncomfortable and the bedding to be very warm. I’m staying for 5 nights and by night 3 I opted to sleep on the couch in my jr suite because I literally could not handle the bed. I called the front desk for help and they were very nice asking if I wanted to change rooms, but no one followed up. I had to call at least two times each day to clean the room and they left us without toilet paper one day so I had to insist that someone come up right away. When I insisted the front desk guy who I spoke to said “well it’s March Madness so we have a lot of guests and we’re very busy.” Since I care so much about that fact, I proceeded to ask if we should use a public restroom and shower with the hose outside instead. The bar is beautiful, but if you plan to stay I’d recommend having at least 6 drinks so you don’t feel the bed or get lucky and fall asleep on the floor instead. 0/10 would not recommend staying the night unless your drunk or looking for a old hipster sugar daddy. On that note, I’d also like to share my first restaurant experience here... the food was very good, but watching two girls make out over an old guy while screaming for more margaritas definitely ruined our meal.
I stayed in this hotel through the snow storm this past weekend. The staff was heroic. They worked long hours, were accommodating and considerate. The property is beautiful and I felt so at home. Great restaurant too. Louie at the front desk, et al were fantastic. I’ll always stay again.
