My husband and I are Canadians who now live in America, and have both travelled very extensively. We stayed here just over a year ago and I’m writing a review now because we are both STILL talking about how this was the best hotel experience overall we have both had out of hundreds. I was pregnant when we stayed here, and from the second we walked in the door they treated us with superb attention and service. The welcome ritual was to offer new check-ins a glass of complimentary champagne on the terrace as they brought our things to our room. The hostess noticed I was pregnant, and took initiative to go down to the cafe and gift shop to pick me up a fresh smoothie and even a sweet stuffed toy to present me and (my now daughter) with welcome gifts. The staff was friendly, attentive and we loved our room. The Dutchess restaurant downstairs has an amazing breakfast every morning, and for dinner they have the most incredible mushroom risotto I’ve ever had. The spa was wonderful and relaxing, with a great ambiance. The terrace is great for sunset, and the bar has a great vibe at night. I’m so thrilled we stayed here and when we return to Amsterdam we wouldn’t consider staying anywhere else. After my stay here I was convinced the Dutch were far nicer and polite than Canadians who have a reputation for it.
We had to travel with our cat and they pulled out all the stops, brought her a bed (a dog bed) and bowls and checked in to make sure we were doing well. Don't move during a snowstorm, and if you do, the folks at the W will have your back and give you an impromptu tour of the beautiful restaurant and terrace with swimming pool. Going back for the pool, since it is closed during corona.
Horrible receptionist and manager not helpfull and understanding at all!!! A hotel like the W should have better staff and standards! Never I would recommend this hotel to anyone !
I visited W for a coffee on a Sunday, and drinks with friends in Friday evening.
The location is just great, right in the center of Amsterdam!
A great spot for me to have a coffee with a nice ambiance & view. It's more like a drinks place for me, when you are looking for a chic evening with nice cocktails or a quality time with your coffee & laptop.
The staff was very kind and friendly, they serve some extras with the coffee such as a bowl of nuts or biscuits. They have a quality service.
I love the cocktails, atmosphere and music in Friday evenings as well.
Amazing for drinks and a quick bite! Stunning venue and views - staff are super friendly and helpful! We plan to stay for a few nights on our next trip to Amsterdam
